Looking over his packed belongings, Dualaich questioned his decision to turn down his mother’s offer to help carry everything inside. He had insisted that he would be fine, said something about it just being weight training, and also tried to pretend that he hadn’t said a bit of something about everyone thinking it weird that his mom was helping a UA hero course student move into the dorms, and waved as she turned car around and drove back toward home.
Except his home was also behind him now. He turned and sized up just how far he would have to carry everything to avoid leaving anything unattended under a sky threatening rain. It was not encouraging, but he had made it more challenging all on his own. Besides, he had been telling the truth when he told his mom that it was training. Just training, and relatively short training for that. He would have to find the gym later, or maybe take it easy today and just go for a run around campus. He would have to find some new routes, and running in the rain was way better than running under a blazing sun.
Okay! He had two suitcases and two boxes, and one of those boxes was books and paper. It would be heavy, but he handled heavier weights at the gym. It would just be a matter of arranging everything so it didn’t fall, and not letting himself give up. Step one: music. He tucked his sport earbuds back in, held in place both around his ears and the internal shape, and used the cord threaded under his jacket to fish out his phone. Running music was fine for this; Dúlamán had a fast beat but he could stand to get worked up in the first place. Heel tapping to the rhythm, Dualaich spun one of the suitcases around and used its straps to tie it to the other one, and then nestled the book box between their handles. A little loose, and going to be incredibly unwieldy, but he only had so many hands. He tried to balance the other box on top, but it slid off as soon as he took a hand away.
Different strategy, but just a bit. He carefully manoeuvred the suitcase-box combo in front of him so he could push it, and then kept it balanced at a safe angle with his knee while he awkwardly bent sideways to pick up the last box. He managed to get it against his chest, and then awkwardly shuffled it onto his elbows to free his hands to work the lower suitcase handle. Hopefully it wouldn’t snap from the combined weight..
But for now, everything was holding. He nudged the suitcases forward with his knee, and then headed up to the dorm entrance. He just had to make it in to the elevator and then he would be fine. So far so good. No one around. No distractions. No unmaintained cracks in the ground to send everything spilling in every direction.

By this point all of Sigga’s belongings had been safely stowed in her new room. It wasn’t a particularly fancy room, but the fact that she had her own fridge and a toilet with which to, well, you know… There wasn’t a shower or a bathtub, though. Unfortunate. That would have made it perfect.
She already had a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach that this meant the baths were shared. And not shared as in the sense of take-your-turn-one-at-a-time shared but, like, shared-shared. The bald teen wrinkled her brow at the thought as the elevator’s numbers did their silent countdown. I mean, why couldn’t the people in Japan be more ashamed of their naked bodies like the rest of the hairless apes on the planet? Huh? Ah, never mind. She was getting ahead of herself. No sense panicking until she could verify what the state of affairs actually were. And if the baths weren’t even gender segregated she simply would never bathe at all.
The elevator doors slid open and Sigga stepped out onto the ground floor of dorm building 1-B. There wasn’t anyone else here. Her moving in to her dorm room happened to coincide with classes. That’s where all the students were at. She had the whole building to herself for the time being. At least until classes ended and people began trickling back in to the dorms.
Sigga slowly spun her head as she traversed the large open corridor, looking at all the shared amenities that were available. She briefly tripped over an ottoman but managed to quickly right herself, eyes quickly scanning for any potential witnesses. None. Good. That was when she spotted someone’s silhouette flickering through one of the large windows. A thief? Nah, more likely a student ditching class early. But maybe?
The girl dashed across the hall and pressed her face against the window. The bandit hadn’t seen her yet. It looked like he was preoccupied with a bunch of stolen merchandise, likely trying to return it to its proper owner like all bandits should. He wasn’t headed towards her, though, instead making a snail’s pace towards one of the other buildings. She silently watched him for a few more moments then opted to initiate her battle-plan.
As quickly and quietly as she could Sigga bolted out one of the doors and made a beeline towards the bandit. She made sure to stay just outside her target’s peripheral vision, though he seemed far too distracted by his ill-gotten gains. Cat-like, she crept forward, ready to pounce but- It wasn’t a bandit. Disappointing, at least at first. Then an idea occurred to the girl.
She had thought to avoid all other students until the last possible moment, but this little scrub hare was clearly not in his element. It would be easier to interact with someone who was as new to UA as she was. Might as well do a bit of recon.
In an instant, Sigga would run in and snap up the box of books held precariously over the boy’s arms. It was far heavier than she had anticipated, but she managed to use her initial momentum to spin on her heal while simultaneously heaving the box of books onto her shoulder. She teetered on her foot for only a second before finding her balance and planting her other foot back on terra firma now facing the male teenager squarely.
The amber peepers staring at Dualaich belonged to a girl four inches shorter than him, sporting a black, cropped jacket, fashionably torn shirt, and a pair of blue jeans. Her outfit wasn’t nearly as interesting as the fins protruding from her head were, or the fact she had taken one of his boxes without asking for permission first. The girl facing him seemed oddly confident he wasn’t about to confused her for a bandit or something. Only an idiot would make that kind of mistake.
She’d give him a moment to collect himself and remove the earbuds before uttering, “Where to, boss?”

Getting started had really been the harder part, Dualaich mused. He had the muscle strength to keep this up for a while yet, and the box he wasn’t actually touching was staying in place despite the expected imperfections in the concrete. If it were too smooth, it would be slippery, right? Especially once it started raining. What sort of rain was today likely to see? He hadn’t heard any major forecasts, but it was his mom who had checked the weather for here. It had been a bit of a drive, but at least she had a car. And didn’t drop him off at school in a police cruiser.
Not all heroes and cops got along all that well... and if any of his classmates were like that, seeing him get out of a cop car right off the bat would be really rough. Or what if they thought he was a criminal, rather than the son of a police officer?
But no one had seen him. He didn’t need to worry about that. And he would call his mom later tonight, once he was settled, and that would all be okay.
Someone plucked the box from his arms.
Someone...
Dualaich came to an abrupt halt, barely getting his knee under the suitcases in time to keep them from crashing sideways, and caught the edge of the other box with his fingertips. It teetered for a moment, but then he was able to heave it back into place between the suitcase handles. Once it was stable, he turned to glare at the - girl his age - who was at least not running away with his stuff despite him not even leaving it unattended. Not running, so not stealing it.
Oh. Was she trying to help? Dualaich’s expression softened, at least to tentative neutrality, and he balanced the suitcases so he could unhook his earbuds. Boss..?
He should say a thing. Yes. Something. Maybe clear his throat first. ”Uh. Well. Thanks, first? I’m going in.... there.” He gestured toward the 1A dorm building before taking hold of the suitcases again and tilting them back into moving position. ”Are you okay with that? The boxes are pretty heavy...” It didn’t look like her Quirk was super strength or anything, probably not balance either, although that could have been what kept her from falling over. Wait, she had fins and stuff. And no nose. So a fish base, maybe? Sea serpent? ”What do you do?” he blurted out after starting to move again.

It was probably quite fortunate that Sigga hadn’t seen the vehicle that had dropped the boy off. It would have completely changed the dynamic of their interaction. For one, there wouldn’t have been an interaction. The girl had her own reason for staying out of sight of law enforcement. It wasn’t like she was a wanted felon, though. Better to keep it that way is all. That said she would have at the very least made sure to memorize the face of the individual with ties to the police. As the case was, she hadn’t seen evidence of that connection.
She studied Dualaich’s expression as he formulated his reply. He was rather quick to thank her despite Sigga not having actually done much to help yet. Perhaps the preemptive thanks was a clever psychological ploy meant to keep her honest and not run off with his books. If so, he was less naïve than the girl would have given him credit for. Not that a mere thanks would have satisfied the rule of reciprocation and kept her from fleeing with his belongings had she a mind to. Maybe she was giving the tepid response too much credit.
The books were heavy, though. In hindsight she should have picked an easier object to assist with. She had intended to also help drag one of the suitcases along, but was now feeling a little uncertain if she’d be able to. Managing to bring up the box of books onto her shoulder had definitely been the right call. Keeping them there despite their weight was simply a matter of keeping them balanced, though it would have been significantly more difficult to do so had she been required to pick them up straight off the ground.
And he hadn’t snapped at her for calling him boss, she noted. Most people wouldn’t have, though the girl herself would have been a little peeved had such a rudimentary tactic to elevate someone's confidence been used on her. She considered herself far too sly and would have felt a little offended had the situation been reversed.
“I’m good.” Sigga replied curtly to the first query, though silently hoping he’d get moving lest the box of books end up being too much for her after all. She calculated that she might even be able to help hold the dorm door open if she was careful. His final question puzzled her, however. What does she do? “I’m a student?” She replied, looking rather puzzled. The bald girl hadn’t understood the question properly or what had triggered it. Though normally quick to decipher someone’s meaning, this time it flew right over her head.

Dualaich was not a mind reader. He was very, very far from it, for all that he was better at being social than he used to, and therefore was getting better at socializing and interacting and generally interpreting other people.
None of that was remotely enough to figure out what the little shifts in this girl’s expression meant with any certainty. It did kind of look like she was mad about him worrying about the weight -
Oh! Did she think he was judging her strength because she was a girl? That was a thing that happened, but that wasn’t where he was going at all, because at the very least his mom could lift at least as much as he could, and he was a hero student, and she could totally be a hero if she wanted but she wanted to be a cop, and this girl clearly wanted to be a hero, because she was at UA, so she was clearly tough and fit, and probably had to deal with all sorts of people assuming she couldn’t because people were dumb...
Dualaich might not be a mind reader, but anyone looking at him might as well be. Every scrap of emotion flitting through his half-panicked brain painted its own brand of announcement across his face, a descending spiral of confusion into embarrassment and horror and worry and then some philosophical consideration and societal judgement.... but mostly it looked like his face was breaking down along with his emotional control.
And then the finned girl went and said something confusing enough to override the entire mess, at least for a the moment, and Dua stopped at the foot of the soon to be most terrifying part of the day, stairs.. He squinted at her. He tried very hard to figure out why she was saying that she was a student, because even out of uniform that was the logical conclusion. But he hadn’t asked what she was doing here - oooohhhhhhhhhh. ”I’m sorry! That wasn’t what I meant. Any of it. I wasn’t trying to judge or anything, it’s just - that box is books so it’s really heavy, so I was wondering if maybe your Quirk was strength or something, but then I thought that - uh - you would probably be making it look ridiculously light instead of just carrying it, so I - I was asking about your Quirk, but also that was kind of rude and abrupt, because I don’t know you at all, I don’t even know your name-“
Breathe. This was the time to breathe, and slow down. He sucked in a breath and then slooooowly let it out through pursed lips to make it last longer. His heartbeat eased off a bit, and his grip loosened, and the massive sense of Overwhelmed took a step back.
Then he looked down at the suitcase handle he was holding, crumpled like paper, and turned very, very red.

Ah the bell.
A glorious sound to students all around the globe. It signified freedom from the everyday grind however came the next part he dreaded. Homework... he had just gotten here however he was more focused on getting his quirk in a usable condition. However he'd actually have to use it to make it work. After changing into his casual clothes he'd roam about the campus he was still new here and didn't get to fully see everything. He'd put on his headphones and play a nice relaxing song conveniently named "No Title" by Reol. She had become his favorite artist since moving to japan. He'd already traipsed about the campus exploring every little crevice he could find. There were only two spots he had yet to see. The roof and the class 1-b dorms. He'd love to meet some of the students over that way. Even though they weren't in his class he would at least like to go and say hello. So with that thought it was decided. Quincy walked down the stairs toward his common area to do some more exploring. As the music in his headphones blasted the world around him seemed to have shifted. Everyone's words seemed to have been replaced with Reol's voice as the music which could only be described as... tropical played in his brain.
He would look at his phone and then at the campus map. He still had sometime to kill before doing his homework. This worked in his favor. Maybe after visiting the other dorms he would head towards the gym to work on his quirk some more in an enclosed setting. As Quincy stepped out of the building, he eye'd the entrance and noticed some people lifting bags. 'They must've just moved in just like me!' He thought. Maybe they were some of his new classmates. He hadn't met any of them yet in a social setting yet. Might as well get started on the right foot after all!
"I see you're having a bit of trouble there need a helping hand?"

While Sigga, least of anyone, didn’t like being apologized to it soon became clear that the boy had developed a case of nerves. In hindsight It kind of made sense that he had been asking about her quirk and not if she was a student, though the circuitous manner in which he tried to explain himself left the girl a little wide-eyed. She tried to make the grin that was creeping across her face look friendly instead of like the downright-amused one her facial muscles were now contorting into. It couldn’t be helped, though.
Her eyes continued watching him steadily as Dualaich attempted to recompose himself, though they eventually shifted away from the flustered boy to something far more interesting. The suitcase handle he had been holding onto seemed to… deflate? Curious. It was obviously the result of a quirk running wild as a result of unchecked emotion, though the nature of said quirk was one she could only speculate on due to the rather limited volume of evidence describing it.
Sigga chose to try socially side-stepping the topic of quirks for the moment, instead electing to ease their interaction by way of a proper introduction. “My name is Sigrid.” As soon as she said the words her mind began to question their propriety. She had barely been in the country for three months and despite knowing how to speak Japanese without an audible accent she could not remember if people introduced themselves with their given name or surname. “Sigrid Tendō.” She finally amended, though still a little uncertain in which order her given and surname should have been spoken in. Too late now. And it mattered little to her in any case.
She didn’t offer her hand to shake, instead adjusting the box hoisted over her shoulder. It was very much a tactical maneuver rather than the extemporaneous one she was pretending it to be. Sigga had made a very deliberate decision upon arriving at the academy that she wouldn’t make any physical contact with anyone she saw there unless the individual in question happened to be fully informed of the nuances of her quirk. It was her way of heading off any potential rumors that might begin to circulate if she had instead shaken everyone’s hand only later for them to learn that it would have been enough for her to silently peruse their thoughts. No. She was smarter than that. Not smart enough to bring the pink mittens she had left lying on her bed with her, but then again she never intended to leave her dorm on such short notice anyway. Maybe that meant she wasn’t all that smart. Hrm…
Moments after her introducing herself to the boy a voice belonging to neither of them interjected. Sigga turned to face the direction it came from only to observe the whitest mop of hair she had seen in Japan to date.

Introductions? Introductions. He could do those. Japanese names were easier to spell than Scottish ones too, at least until kanji got involved. Kanji was like a super condensed secret code. He got by in school and all, but not being able to go home and ask a parent how to read such and such character had been challenging. But he was getting away from himself again. Moving by himself was stressful, apparently. He should probably make a point of remembering that for the next time he had to do it.
Sigrid was an easy enough name to remember, at any rate, and while his hands were occupied with the suitcases (and casually un-crumpling the handle before it bent the wrong way and dumped everything everywhere), Sigrid didn’t offer a hand to shake. Not everyone did, at any rate. She didn’t bow either, like a lot of people did in Japan, but then she was balancing one of his boxes on her shoulder. Bowing would be disastrous.
”Nice to meet you,” he replied automatically. ”I’m Dualaich Oidhche... but it’s easier to just call me Dua. Don’t worry about how to spell any of it...” Dualaich trailed off as another person approached.
Wait. He was only half Japanese. Sigrid was not a Japanese name, although her ethnicity was hard to gauge given the physical Quirk. This guy was too dark-skinned to be all Japanese. Probably. It didn’t look like it was just tanned. ”I was kind of expecting to be one of the only people here not Japanese,” he blurted out (again, but at least not a prying question this time?). Also, new guy asked a question. ”Um. Sure? I guess it would be easier to get up the stairs, at least. But I’ll manage, really, you don’t have to.”. Know what? He was too confused to be proud. Maybe he should just roll with whatever happened. He’d probably freak out a few times along the way, but that was a future problem. Right now there were two people looking at him and he needed to get everything inside before it started raining. It was hard to tell if the sky was getting darker or if he was imagining it.

Quincy tried to greet them with a smile but the looks on their faces were quite.. surprised to say the least. It seemed as though the amphibious one was looking at his hair and the other was more or less directed towards his features. He could at least deduce that much. After all it's not everyday you see a white haired black teenager from New York Here in japan. He'd keep quiet though as Dua broke the silence. "Nah it's fine! I wish I had help while I was moving in!" Quincy would say Lifting one of the other boxes. "The names Quincy!" He'd say jerking his had back to fix his misplaced glasses. "Also don't be startled by the hair! It was my mothers. Hereditary traits gave me my dads looks and my mothers features." He would say hoisting the box with relative ease.
Quincy had found this to be grunt work but it would be a nice work out. He'd begin to make his way up the stairs looking back to make sure they were following behind him. Tufts of his snowy white hair would get in the way and he'd blow it up and out of the way. Speaking of hair he was really overdue for a haircut! As he reached the top step he'd wait at the top for the others to catch up. "So what are your names, and where are you from? Pardon all the questions, I'm just really glad i'm not the only newbie around these parts!" He'd say adjusting the box in his arms.

Sigga easily committed Dualaich’s name to memory, it being as unique as it was. Who named their kid Dual-H? Was H&H already taken? Maybe she misheard. Of course the girl said none of these ludicrous thoughts out loud and even made an effort to banish them from her mind in case there were other students with thought-reading quirks nearby. Like perhaps the darker-skinned boy that had approached them. She didn’t sense any mental intrusion, but just in case her mind quickly thought the following sentence, If you’re reading my thoughts you should know I will use my quirk to turn you into a bowl a Jello-O unless you stop. Her mind then returned to normal functions.
Quincy was another name easily memorized. She wondered if everyone at the academy had weird names. Wait, was her name weird too? Probably. It seemed doubtful that there would be many other students with Scandinavian names here in Japan. Not that it really mattered.
Sigga eyeballed the white-haired boy as he proceeded to assist with the other box. Hypocritical though the notion may have been, the girl couldn’t help but wonder about his motives to assist the duo. She kept pace with him as he walked towards A-1’s front doors.
“Sigrid.” Sigga said curtly, replying to the request for a name. She didn’t say her surname this time simply because Quincy hadn’t offered his. The name of a city, “Furano,” was offered shortly after, before having, “Hokkaido,” added to the response after her mind processed the latter bit of the white-haired boy’s remark. Newbie around these parts might not necessarily mean he was new to Japan, but if he was then Sigga’s mention of what island Furano was on seemed like a good way to head off that particular follow-up question.
She walked past him and used her free hand to open up the door to the dorm she didn’t belong to, careful to make sure the box of books on her shoulder didn’t topple. Sigga then planted the side of her foot against the door to keep it open for the others. Her eyes briefly darted to the box she was carrying, only now beginning to wonder what kind of person owned so many physical books. If Dualaich was some sort of nerd she’d be sure to take advantage of any know-how he might have if her classmates came up empty.

And just like that, Dua only had to worry about his two suitcases. Now having them strapped together made it more difficult, so while new guy - Quincy - charged up the stairs, he took a moment to untie them and put away the completely normal-seeming handles. Wait, Quincy must have missed hearing his name. ”I’m Dualaich Oidhche,” he said again, just in case, ”but just call me Dua. I’ve moved around a bit, but I’m mostly from Abashiri. Also on Hokkaido.”
Okay. He could handle this. Two people, but only two people, and everyone was mostly focused on moving stuff. Sigrid wasn’t talking much, but that wasn’t so new... but the mood was a bit different. From Quincy? He glanced up once he was past the stairs and had maneuvered the two suitcases without issue. Definitely energetic, and would probably cross over into too much pretty easily, but even Dua hadn’t hit that point yet. If anything, right now it was just feeling like Quincy was easy to get to know.
Oh! Maybe it was safe to be curious about him! That would help make connections here, and if they were all new, then maybe they’d be more enthusiastic about it than if they were settled in already. This was his chance! He should take advantage of it. Just breathe, and then talk! Ask a question!
Once he thought of one. Oh!
”Quincy, you’re new too, right? Did you always know you wanted to be a hero?” That was a thing people liked to talk about most of the time. And motivation was a big part of getting to know people! Good job, Dualaich, for coming up with a good first question!

"It's nice to meet you Sigrid and Dua." He'd say smiling. "I haven't lived here that long but my folks live in hokkaido. They say it reminds them of the Russian winters"
”Quincy, you’re new too, right? Did you always know you wanted to be a hero?”
Quincy seemed to shrink when Dua asked this question. His face went pale and the boy was clearly nervous. It triggered something in him. "W-w-w-why would I want to be hero?" His mind raced back to his time in the states his father. The world around him started to crumble as he felt his heart beat through his throat. He began sweating a bit as if he was being watched. He remembered his dad, and anger clouded his mind he was on the verge of transforming when he remembered... why he was here. He took deep breathes. "Just give me a minute that's a loaded question probably not meant for prying ears. I just need a bit, to catch my breath." Quincy almost lost it there. he would have transformed in front of them. It would have been a terrible first impression. "Alright, well if you must know... no. I never did really want to be one. Not until a bit after my quirk manifested. See I'm from the United States of America and Due to extraneous circumstances, as well as my father being a super villain, I'm studying here to keep my Quirk from going rampant While at the same time training to catch my Rouge father. I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone ya'know."
That was a close call. Quincy kept his cool and managed to keep his emotions in check. That was a win in his book. He was finally learning what it meant to actually be in control though this was only just the beginning. "Speaking of Quirks, I don't want to alert you but my quirk is more like a curse if anything. I get pretty strong but it activates based on my mental state. So I tend to constantly keep my emotions in check. That's why I needed a bit." He'd say with a slight playful chuckle. "What happen to be both of yours? If you don't mind me asking that is."

Despite not being much of an extrovert Sigga could talk up a storm when she felt something needed to be said. She was no social butterfly though. When she had offered her unsolicited help to move a fellow student’s boxes the girl had done so already having acknowledged and accepted some undetermined cost; sharing of some personal but non-damaging information about herself. That part would hopefully be done in exchange for the other person’s personal information, theoretically mitigating said cost. That was how many social interactions worked after all. She didn’t feel like taking the first step, though. Besides, her having assisted in moving some things for Dualaich could potentially end up being banked for a small favor in the future. That was Sigga’s modus operandi after all.
It was rather convenient that the first question posed was neither made by, nor directed towards, her. It wasn’t one she would have been particularly interested in answering herself, but she had plenty of time to mentally rehearse all number of hypothetical conversions she imagined having on the train ride over so it wasn’t like it would have stumped her. It did seem to have quite the overwhelming effect on Quincy though.
Sigga’s amber eyes focused on the white-haired boy, only now fully taking him in. She resisted the impulse to offer a reassuring hand over his. Not because she was some beacon of empathy, mind you. The girl simply really wanted to know what memories and thoughts had him riled so. Of course she did nothing but continue holding the door open for the duo. Using her quirk on someone at this juncture was a self-imposed taboo not easily discarded.
She waited patiently as the teen tried to recompose himself. When he had done so he offered up more information than Sigga imagined she would have been able to glean from a proper interrogation, even one using her quirk and some social manipulation to boot. With someone as open as Quincy being in UA, and with such a history, it would make for a good subject to deflect to if anyone got up in her grill about her own past. Perfect!
The bald girl gave a sympathetic nod as the boy explained himself. She made a note to herself about all the data he divulged. There were plenty of unanswered questions, though. Like what actually was his quirk. She doubted it was simply getting pretty strong since he considered it a curse, but let the omission slide for the moment.
It was easy for her to formulate a simple and informative reply to his question. She shifted her weight to her other foot, still carefully balancing the box of books on her shoulder with one hand, and used her other hand to pull up her shirt just past her lower ribs. “I can breathe underwater.” She announced with a bit of pride, revealing one side of her set of gills. You could barely make out the thin purple lines until Sigga’s hand tugged a little at the skin on her chest in an effort to better show off the intricate striations normally carefully hidden away below her sixth and seventh vertebrosternal ribs.
In all honesty a part of her would have preferred to keep even this part of her quirk secret. Quincy, having volunteered so much information on his own, had triggered a reciprocatory response that the girl hadn’t fully realized she had been manipulated into doing, intentionally or not. At least her display was likely ample enough for her to have satisfied the query. And she had done so without even having had to make up some outrageous lie!

Dua blinked. So much Hokkaido.
And then Quincy pretty much fell apart in front of his eyes. Over why he wanted to be a hero..? He had thought it was such a good question, but he’d made his fellow new student have a whole panic attack just by asking, and now his own chest was seizing rust-tight -
Until Quincy asked for a moment, and the (relatively) smooth control of one set of rampaging anxiety washed away the pressure building the other. The tightness in Dua’s chest eased, and then faded entirely, and then Quincy simply explained why the question had bothered him so much. It... made sense. It was certainly complicated, especially having to deal with a rampage-y Quirk. As for the villain father part... Dualaich took that with complete calm. ”My dad was a villain too. Apparently he didn’t stay that way, though. And he died. But even that makes some things harder.”. He had to let go of one of the suitcases to scratch his head. ”Apparently we had to move to Japan when I was super little because of something involving other villains he used to run with. I grew up here, though, so that’s simpler, I guess.”. Okay, now that they were inside... they had to find his assigned dorm. He had that written down somewhere, along with the key.... where had he put it?
Had he forgotten it? Oh no. What if it was still in his mom’s car -
Nope, it was in his pocket, folded up neat and square and small. Phew. He held the spiky star up for Quincy and Sigrid to see before he started unfolding it, envelope and swipe key both. Sigrid’s Quirk made lots of sense with her fins, though it was less flashy than he had expected of a UA student. Still, it could be useful. ”I bet you’d be good at search and rescue, Sigrid. Or if you worked with someone to flood a space, you’d be the only one who could get around easily.”. He finished unfolding the envelope while waiting for the elevator to arrive and pulled out the key card and direction letter. Okay! He had the room number, and that gave him the floor it was on too, looked like. Good. ”I can make things like paper, so I can fold them without breaking them. I still have to do the folding by hand, though.”. He held up the key card, gave his Quirk a quick little push, and folded the little piece of electronic-stuffed plastic in half, then let it pop back to shape.

Hearing that there was another student with a villain father made the boy feel not so alone here at this place. However inlike Dua, Quincy wanted to Kill his father. Mainly because he blamed everything that's ever gone wrong in his life on him. But that was beside the point. This Sigrid girl didn't talk a lot did she? She kept giving him one word answers. He would walk through the doors held open by the woman and thank her respectively. He would watch as his new acquaintances would show they're respective quirks. Sigrid's was a little underwhelming however he couldn't knock how helpful of a quirk it would be. Dua's Quirk on the other hand seemed quite useful. Keeping things neatly folded so that they'd be all the easier to pick up and bring with. Quincy thought this was pretty cool especially the card being popped back into shape.
"That was kinda cool!" Quincy said inquisitively. He wanted to know a bit more how Dua's quirk worked. Could he fold more things? Even people? Or was it only just objects? There were so many questions he had but now wasn't the time to ask them. "That's actual pretty cool!" Quincy said smiling. "If I could show you my quirk I would but we're not in a controlled setting." He'd smile and direct his voice toward Sigrid. "You know I bet you're like really fast in the water. You're probably amazing at water rescue's." Gills had many uses, but how could she breathe on land. It baffled the boy beyond belief. Maybe she could use her gills at will. If so that would be really cool too. Imagine Never being able to drown. "Speaking of quirks! I need to do a bit of training after this, would any of you like to join me for a workout or something?"
