Fu listened to the last few speeches, taking mental notes. Daiki's speech moved her but not in the sense that it would for most people rather that she showed the side of him that Futaba usually sees. While he is high energy self is the one seen by most people, Fu tended to see the gentler side of him. Naturally, his high energy side was dominant side of his personality but the gentle side was precious. The next speeches after Daiki were good too. Ren in particular resonated with her. The more she thought about it, Ren was probably one of Fu's best friends. She doesn't do the activities she does with Ryuga but they always seem to hang out. He even brought her food when she was mostly bound to the hospital bed.
Looking at the piece of paper in front of her, she was not sure what name to write. Naturally she wanted to write Daiki but she also did want to overwork him. He was already part of the basketball team. She also did not want to come off as someone who voted for Daiki just because she was dating him. Taking the piece of paper, she wrote a name in it before closing it. Folding it several times, she moved to get up. Before she was able to do so, her sensei got up from her chair.
"Let me take that for you, Himura-san." The teacher took the paper, Fu giving a small bow her head as a thank you. Guess it was out of her control but she would like Ren to be class representative.

Isamu frowned a little as he stared at the slip of the paper, weighing his choices. None of the speeches really did it for him. Neither had his own, if he was being honest with himself. He’d spent most of his time trying to slide under the radar, so putting himself on display felt… strange, and unnatural. He also wasn’t normally given over to making bold, emphatic speeches, nor was he the most outgoing. Still, he’d tried, and that was what mattered.
Of course, the question at hand was not whether he had sufficiently impressed his classmates, but who he would vote for for class rep. Leaving out himself (for etiquette) and those who had dropped out, there were only a handful of choices. He much preferred action to speeches, and that narrowed the pool even further. He’d seen a handful of his classmates in action in their first combat training exercise, which had had… mixed results. But he’d only seen one person in action in a real combat situation, and ultimately that had made the strongest impression on him.
Of course, responsiveness in a combat situation didn’t guarantee a person could fulfill the duty of class rep, but at the very least it was more a measure of his character than giving a stirring speech, though it helped that his pick’s speech hadn’t been too terrible.
Isamu scribbled down ‘Ren Wolff’ on his given scrap of paper and brought it to Aoi’s desk, hopping up carefully on top to hand it to her and then return to his seat.

Ren let out a sigh as he made it back to his seat, a bit of relief that he'd actually been able to speak without completely tripping over himself. Public speaking had never been a strong point of his. Honestly he wasn't expecting much in terms of votes either, but that had never really been the point of this for him. He had been the last one up however, and as Sato-sensei was explaining the rules for the election, the boy's mind was already at work trying to come to a decision. Honestly, as much as they had helped learn a bit more about each of his classmates, he wasn't sure how much of an effect the speeches had actually had on his opinion for class rep. Character and ideals were certainly an important part of the job, but they weren't the only variable to be weighed. Organization, reliability, logic, these all mattered just as much. Even if it would have been proper for him to vote for himself, he probably wouldn't have. Recent events made it pretty clear that he didn't always think things through before he did something. Sure, his reaction could have been the right one based on the information they had, but he had just jumped in without considering the consequences.
On the other hand, someone else that had been there managed to keep a level head the whole time. Out of all the classmates he had seen in action, he wasn't always the nicest, but he stayed smart and focused on the task at hand even when things got bad. In his mind that counted for a lot, and so after a moment's consideration he scribbled down a name on the paper, folded it up and passed it off to the teacher.

I'M NOT IN LOVE don't have the time Call it a crime to find everything I need in me. She hadn't invested much in her own speech, but did care about who won, so Tora paid close attention to the students that followed her. Daiki's emotional speech dwarfed her own; she didn't expect it from the guy, but also didn't know him too well. The other's were neither here nor there for her, except Isamu's.
Perhaps it was bias, with him being one of few classmates she had acquainted herself with, but Torami rather liked his speech. It was short, precise, and showed similar values to her own. So her choice was clear.
Promptly she wrote the cat's name on the paper, before delivering it to the teacher.

[attr="class","sinner"] [attr="class","sinner1"] [attr="class","sinback"] [attr="class","sinnert"] At the end of his speech, the rest seemed to go by so fast. Chiura, Futaba, Ryu, Torami, Isamu and Ren. Those were the people he could choose from, while in technicality Aoi didn't say they couldn't vote for themselves, it just wasn't in his character either way. It's important to be humble, voting for oneself is the most prideful thing a person could do. He knew quite a few of the people running. Chiura, Futaba, Ryu he didn't know at all besides a brief meeting for a class; they hadn't really talked yet. Torami he'd barely spoken with either, if at all. Then there was Isamu who he'd talked with a fair amount, and finally Ren who he interacted with a lot when classes started, but since then hadn't all that much. People came up here with many of the same motivations, but most were different. To help others, or to help themselves. For some it's placing down their confidence to bring up others, and for some it's putting themselves up there to hopefully receive faith from their classmates. If Futaba or Chiura won the vote, it'd definitely make them more confident in themselves, knowing for a fact their classmates had faith in them. It's their first year in UA, a class representative doesn't have to be all made up and fancy already. That was where he wanted to be, voting for the people that he felt would become stronger with the role. Become more confident in themselves and subsequently happier. It might be assumptive of him, if it was it still came from a caring place. If he really could do whatever he wanted though, he'd have voted for the person his attention was on the most. Raphael. Some people didn't run because they didn't care for it, but others and more important he and someone else didn't run because they arguably cared the most out of everyone here; at least that was his thought on it. Ryuga and Raphael cared so much that they found the smallest things to counteract any speech they could give to not stand up there. He wanted to vote for Raphael so badly, but this was the actual vote, and school-rules he had to vote for someone actually running. So he'd write down one of two people. Chiura or Fu, the one which he prioritized being not his girlfriend, but the other. Fu knew he cared about her, and he'd hoped he helped her a lot already. This would be his motivator for Chiura, hoping she'd get the position if he didn't. Since obviously he wanted it first and foremost. Duh. His vote was placed; Chiura Yutsuko. [attr="class","ka"]
[attr="class","ke"] [attr="class","ex"]I Will Not Be Like My Father [attr="class","rh"] ❝ No Vote
| Most of Kagami’s attention was on the notebook she had pulled out. If nothing else she could use this time for a little extra studying. She ambiently listened to the background noise of the class though was only really waiting to hear whenever the teacher decided that class was actually going to start. If she was a more expressive person she might have sighed in annoyance when she heard that they were supposed to be voting on their next class rep. Taking the small piece of paper as it was given to her she paused for a moment while looking at it. What was she even going to write down? Sure there were names up on the board of who was running but honestly she couldn’t put any of those names to any of the faces in her classroom. Even the ones she vaguely recognized.
But then again, there wasn’t much point in picking someone anyway, at least from where she was sitting. She scribbled away something simple. “No vote.” With that she took her turn walking up and placed the paper on the teacher’s desk before heading back to her notes, silently hoping that they’d be done with this little absurd parody of democracy. It was strange that something this little was so irritating to her. While it did seem like a waste of time there were plenty of things that she saw other students that didn’t exactly seem like the best use of their time. And it would be a lie to say that Kagami didn’t fall into those same traps from time to time. Perhaps it was simply because she didn’t have much of a choice in participating this time around.

Post by Aoi Sato on Aug 3, 2019 9:40:49 GMT
Aoi patiently waited as all of her students scribbled down their votes. It was a boring process for her and a boring process in general. She has been here long enough that Aoi sort of knew what students are going to say. The speeches weren't identical to years prior, they never are, but she could see patterns. Patterns in people like Daiki Satou. Patterns in people, errr cats, like Isamu Suzuki. Patterns in the less confidence bunch. Patterns in those who didn't run. Being a teacher can be so boring sometimes if Aoi can remember the patterns in all her classes, which she has had too many to count at this point. Writing down the tallies. Sighing, she noted the number of votes some students have gotten. Why must these things be so close.
Getting up, she cleared her throat before speaking "Based on the votes, Chiura Yutsoko will be 1-A's class representative. Congratulations!." Aoi waited a bit for some sort of clapping from her class before clearing her throat again. "Our vice rep is currently tied. Wolff. Satou. Suzuki. Do you both still want to be vice representative. If yes, we'll vote again. If no, please agree between another. If none of you want tp be vice representative, well..."
Aoi sighed "We'll cross that bridge once we get there."

Chiura beamed. It was time to announce the winner! She wondered if it would be Daiki, who seemed the obvious choice; or Fu, who she herself had voted for; or perhaps someone else entirely. It was a remarkably exciting time and she couldn't wait to throw her support behind the eventual winner--
Her blood ran colder than usual as she heard her own name on the lips of her teacher. Hang on, what? Her long, scaled ears twitched as she stared straight forwards into the void. Her mouth hung slightly agape. She -- how -- who on earth had voted for her?!
Adrenaline coursed through her veins. Everyone would be looking her way in a scant moment or two. She closed her mouth and bowed low from spot towards the back of the room. "T-Thank you all for your support!" she stammered, the bafflement and shock (and no small amount of happy gratitude) apparent in her features. "I promise I will do my best, because you all don't deserve anything less!"
