It was a fairly pleasant day in Musutafu. People were bustling about their day, albeit it was early enough that the streets weren't too crowed. Some people carried briefcases while some carried bags of food. It was an amusing mix, at least to one of the teachers of U.A. that was making her way to work. She was carrying her cup of coffee in one hand and her little bag of sweets in the other. Her students just had gone through the Sports Festival and she felt they deserved a reward or break. So she made them some Wagashi for them. They were her favourite and she remembered some of her students liking traditional treats.
Making her way through the city, she eventually got to the gate from the school. Greeting the security guard, Aoi wandered her way through the school grounds. Whistling, she attracted the attention of the two cats that were following her. Both grey tabby cats followed closely behind her, following her into the building. Eventually getting to her classroom, she unlocked the door with one of her keys. The cats wandered in, jumping onto the teacher's desk. Giggling a bit, she switched on the lights. It had the usual smell of her classroom.
Putting the bag of sweets on one of the unoccupied desks, she went to the white board and wrote the simple words "I'm proud of Everyone."

This was it! Quincy was finally starting his first day of classes. After that talk with the new principal he was ready to take on whatever came across his path. He awoke with a start! He was barely able to sleep, with all those overbearing emotions that come with starting at a new school. Excitement, nervousness, anxiety, worry, joy, etc. He was feeling quite a bit of everything at this exact moment. Despite all that though he put on his U.A. Uniform and got ready for his day. It was still fairly early, no one knew who the white haired boy was as he traipsed about the place. At this time of morning, the students were scarce and still sleeping however the library was open. He'd check it out and see what books they had to kill time. He already had eaten breakfast by now so he had some time to kill.
After doing an avid amount of reading it started to become a lot more noticeable that the students were waking up and the day was about to be in full swing. He looked out the window and fixed his glasses. The white haired student closed his book and placed it upon the shelf. It was finally time to meet his teacher and classmates. Grabbing his bag from his chair he headed out towards the classrooms looking for the correct door.
"1-A.... 1-A.... Ah here we go!"
He had finally found it. He opened the door and luckily he didn't arrive late, he was the first to be here. He wandered in and noticed the message on the chalk board first that read "I'm proud of Everyone." He also noticed another person in the room along with 2 cats. The desks around were all empty however it'd be rude to just up and ignore the woman. Also he didn't know if there was a specific seating chart. He didn't want to make a terrible first impression. He would approach the woman first.
"Oh... uh... hello there. It's a pleasure to meet you! Uh... I'm assuming you're the teacher here? I'm the New Student Quincy Gayle." He was very nervous. The fact he'd have to do this again would be terrifying. However he put the thought off until later.

Post by Ren Wolff on Jan 8, 2020 4:46:13 GMT
Ren let out a quiet groan as his eyes fluttered open. His body was still sore, but he rolled over anyway and climbed out of bed. The room was dark and the alarm hadn't gone off yet, but his body was still used to getting up extra early, and its not like he was sleeping well to begin with. And so in spite of the protests from his muscles and his sleep addled mind, the boy let himself go on autopilot into the same schedule he'd kept for the last month. Fifteen minutes later he was dressed in his exercise clothes out in front of the dorm, finishing up his stretches before starting off on a morning run. It wasn't a pleasant start by any measure, but soon enough the bite of the cool air shocked his brain awake, and the building adrenaline helped numb his aching body.
The distraction wouldn't last forever though, as when Ren returned from his exercises and began to prepare for the rest of the day, his mind kept going back to the tournament. He'd made it all the way through the first two rounds of the sports festival, and pushed his way into the semi-finals of the tourney proper. That's where his run had come to an end however, facing off against Jun. He wasn't upset about losing to his classmate, he respected his friend's skill too much to be sore about that sort of thing. No the problem was how he'd lost. During the battle he'd seen how to win, knew he could have done it, and then... He'd hesitated, froze up for just a split second and let the chance pass him by. What bothered him is that he knew he hadn't given it his all, and so did someone else.
When he left the ring, someone had been waiting for him. Siegfried had been there, watching the whole thing. His 'father' didn't say all that much, but the look the hero gave him was practically burned into his mind. It was enough to make him dread the coming weekend, but there wasn't anything he could do about it at this point. The paperwork had already been processed and the school had already approved the leave of absence for the 'internship'. In less than seven days he'd be on a plane back to Germany, where he was promised two weeks of the most grueling, relentless training he'd ever known. Needless to say, that would include the punishment for the lie that he'd been maintaining for the last several months of his life...
As Ren realized that he was standing in front of the door to his homeroom, he did his best to shake his head clear before heading in, but the chill air that continued to hang around him said plenty about his mental state. "Good morning Sensei." He said with a forced smile as he entered the room, seeing the message on the board and offering Aoi a slight bow. Oddly enough he wasn't the first person in, there was another kid that he didn't recognize standing near the teacher. A new student? he couldn't help but wonder as he made his was across the room. As he went to sit down however, he found himself unable as one of the teacher's cats hopped up and claimed the seat for themself. 'Whatever it takes... right?' He thought to himself as he set his bag aside and reached out to pet the cat.

| The injuries Hyousuke's hands had sustained during the sports festival hadn't gone completely, if the bandages were anything to go by, but he could at least move them enough to write or type with. It stung that he'd have to sit out of pretty much any practical session until he was given the all-clear, but at least he knew when his physical injuries would heal - they weren't what concerned him at all. Rather, it was his wounded pride that was causing a slight scowl to latch onto his expression, while his gaze seemed oddly empty and unfocussed - as if his mind was somewhere else, even if he was facing forward.
So lost in his thoughts, Hyousuke only barely noticed that he was at the gates, coming to about an inch away from them before he jolted back to attention and moved so that he wouldn't walk straight into them. He cursed his lack of focus, resolving to try and keep it together until he was at least sitting down, but his brain just wasn't cooperating. He couldn't stop his thoughts drifting back to the festival, and how it'd ended - at least, how it'd ended for him. That scowl grew, and his teeth grit harder against each other, fingers curling tight around the handle to his locker's door.
A quick glance about the classroom told him that he was one of the first people there. He didn't remember whether he was late or early - he'd gone through his morning routine without even looking at the time, simply going through the motions in an emotionless haze. Even when walking into the building, there was a sense of numbness plaguing him, though feelings of anger and humiliation didn't follow far behind it. Blankly, he looked towards the whiteboard, and read the words displayed so plainly on it. She was proud of them. Pride. Hyousuke's teeth clenched harder, and he shot his gaze towards the floor before anyone could notice, turning on his heel and heading to his seat in silence.
He was sure she really was proud of the class as a whole. They'd given it their all, as far as he could tell, and had put on quite the show. But when he thought back to his miserable performance, how he'd had to fight tooth and nail, how he'd had to toil and bleed just to reach the third round by the skin of his teeth, and how he'd lost so easily to Ryu... He couldn't fathom how she could ever be proud to call him her student. He'd failed, plain and simple, and shown the world how pathetic his attempts at becoming a hero were. |

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"
Futaba's eyes flew open as her alarm broke the silence of her room. Her room was a bit of a mess. She had been working late so she hadn't bothered keeping her room cleaned. When she finally will be caught up, then she'll fix up. She had 10 worksheets left out of the 200 that she had to complete. She was quite proud of her progress. Naturally, she didn't do it all alone. Ren had been a big help, just like he always has been. He helped her with her school work. He helped her with her more private affairs. He even helped her with the Sports Festival.
While getting dressed in the uniform, the Sports festival ran through the girl's head again. To say it was a disaster would be bit of an overstatement, at least for the first event. She did what she had to do to move on to the next round. With the help of Ren, she was able to take care of the civilian robots and guide them to their destination. The issue, however, became her start to the event. She had given up initially and some of the school administration taken issue with it. Thought that Futaba should have points taken off and not move on to the next. Not enough complained though and Futaba appeared to be on the up when it came to her performances at the school. Even some of the media people thought she had grown in potential and was living up to her family name.
Then the obstacle course came and Fu showed that she should not have been participating. As soon as it was her turn to run her section of the obstacle course, she puked up her food from a few hours ago and just curled up in a ball. Even though she had been cancer free for a month or so, she had not recovered from the treatment completely. As she wasn't able to finish, it meant her team was disqualified. She felt bad but her fellow teammates didn't hold it against her. They said it could happen to anyone. They knew she had been ill. The media didn't and abandoned her just as soon as they picked her up. Failure of the Himura Line was the most pleasant headline she had seen around that time.
Shaking her head, Fu headed to her class. Entering the 1-A classroom, she noticed the the two cats from her sensei. Bowing to her sensie, she took her spot in the classroom. "Morning, Ren-san!" Making a clicking sound with her mouth, one of the cats jumped on her lap. Scratching the cat behind the ears, she noted the board before waiting for the rest of the class to arrive.

Post by Isamu Suzuki on Jan 14, 2020 14:25:32 GMT
Isamu grumbled to himself as he slowly stirred awake at whatever ungodly hour in the morning it was currently. Far before his alarm clock was due to go off, and his internal clock told him it was still night, but he was also rested and wouldn’t be going back to sleep soon. No, his body wanted to eat.
This is what happens when I go to bed too early.
Yesterday had been… grueling, would be one word to use. The Sports Festival had pushed him and his classmates to their limits, putting their minds, bodies, and training to the test. After the day’s events he had wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed and sleep, but that meant going to sleep while the sun was still up, which meant waking up at…
He cracked open an eye and peered at the alarm clock. 4:26 AM. He’d slept longer than he meant to and still woke up far too early. He slowly uncurled himself from his bed into a long, languorous stretch, stretching and working out every kink and tight muscle that he could. That was a good start to feeling better, at least. After that was a long, hot shower and extra particular grooming care—running around in cityscapes fighting robots and other quirk users did not help in keeping a kempt appearance—and finally some food. He dipped into his personal reserve of jerky and stole through the dorms up to the roof, perching on the edge of the building and silently eating as he took in the early morning sounds and watched the few other early risers shuffling about.
He hadn’t won the tournament. As much as he wanted to, he knew the odds would be slim. His quirk, while versatile in its own way, wasn’t traditionally considered powerful, and without his gear he had a lot of unfavorable matchups.
Still, he had made it to the tournament, passing through the first two rounds and into the limited bracket, and that had been one of his primary goals for the Sports Festival. Hopefully, despite the loss in the third event, recruiters were still able to see the value of his cunning and specialist abilities from the other rounds.
Hopefully.
There were still lessons to be learned, of course, and areas of improvement he needed to start working on. That much had always been clear, and the Sports Festival put his lacking areas of development into sharper focus. “No rest for the weary,” he mused out loud to himself, both at his own situation and at seeing his fellow classmate start his early morning exercise routine.
After a time he retreated from the roof and got ready for class, making his way into the classroom and frowning slightly at the sight of two of the Sensei’s cats already in the room. Nevertheless, he bowed to their teacher respectfully. “Good morning, Sato-sensei.” After that he noticed what she had written on the board, noting the… rare and directly positive affirmation from their sensei. Hmm.
And of course, he couldn’t miss the seemingly new student standing there, talking to the teacher. He studied them for a moment, trying to ascertain if they were from another class or a new transfer. He couldn’t be completely sure, but either way…
Isamu had all the appearance of a regular black housecat—not unlike the two already in the room—but he wore a U.A. uniform, was capable of standing on two legs, and, of course, of speaking. Isamu jumped easily up onto Sato’s desk, tiny backpack on his back, and gave a light bow to Quincy. “Good morning, my name is Suzuki. I’m one of the class representatives. Is there anything I can help you with?” Whether a new student or from another class, it was his duty to put the best face forward for 1-A.

Jun was ecstatic! Not only did he win the Sports Festival, but his twin brother was also out of a coma! He couldn't be happier! But he was a little disappointed in Ren. The other blond should have won their match. Like an idiot, he left himself wide open...and Ren could have taken advantage of it. They both knew it. Jun didn't seek out a reason why or anything. But it was a curious thing of why their resident cook didn't advantage of the opening. Either way, his family had taken him out to eat, and boy did they spend the money on the best place in town to eat!
Plus, it was nice to see Riku was back. More than that, he was still the Riku he knew...and hadn't given up on his dream. That was the important part.
Jun walked in at the last minute to see Isamu talking to a new student. Everyone else was in their seats. The winner of the whole thing went to his own seat, still giving Ren a curious glance. Then paid attention to the new guy. Word through the grapevine was that some heroes were cautioning UA from taking in a specific student. With the amount of transfers in and out of the school as of late, he wondered if this was the guy. He seemed mild mannered, so he didn't see any real cause for alarm.
So he focused on Aoi-sensei. Jun, of course, beamed in pride, his eyes unusually bright with happiness. Still, he wasn't going to let this victory go to his head...arrogance was one of many ways heroes fall.

Aoi watched as her students individually filed into the classroom. Each of her students had done differently during the Sports Festival. It had been a mixed bag but enough students made it to the tournament so people didn't question her methods. In the monotony of students walking in, a new student introduced himself to her. "Ah yes. Morning. How about you introduce yourself when I'm done talking. Please take a seat." Nodding a bit, she waited a bit until the new student got himself situated before getting up from her seat. Tapping the desk, she watched her two cats walk up to her and sat down next to her.
"I'd like say that I'm proud of everyone and like to congratulate every single one of you." She gestured to everyone as she said this, giving them all an encouraging smile. "Winning isn't everything during the Sports Festival. For you guys, it's honestly just showing off what you can do. People understand that the quirks and abilities do not match up the format that this sports festival subscribes to." Clapping her hands, she went down the to some of her students.
"Some special mentions to Tomoshibi for winning the tournament." She clapped a little for Jun. "Everyone who made it to the tournament, congratulations." She clapped again before adding and "And a special congratulations to Himura-san who recovered from cancer and still was able to make it how far she did." She gave the girl a approving nod before motioning to her new student to introduce himself.

Post by Quincy Gayle on Mar 1, 2020 1:06:09 GMT
Quincy Went to go and take one of the open seats. The classroom was like a ghost town until his classmates started to roll in one by one. They all looked... defeated... it was kinda of pathetic. Quincy kinda had this entire U.A. Thing Jazzed up in his head as the bee's knees, but instead these were just normal knees. Not even Mediocre Knees. Everyone looked defeated and depressed. What was with the vibe here. Quincy was REALLY off put by all the bad energy. Maybe it was because it was the morning. That had to be it. After all Quincy was only up and excited because it was his first day of school. Yeah that had to be it. It wasn't long before Quincy was approached by what looked to be a walking talking Cat. He was no Tom, but a cat all the same. "Oh uh, no. I'd just hate to be a bother. Thank you for the offer of help. I greatly appreciate it." Quincy gave Isamu a bright and genuine smile as the boy twiddled his thumbs awaiting at the empty desk for the teacher's Cue. Isamu Reminded himself of the Palico from a game he played not too long ago. It wasn't too long before his Instructor began speaking.
So there was a sports festival. Sounded like fun. Someone from his class had won, which was pretty cool. In addition one of his classmates beat cancer. That was a great accomplishment in and of itself. He didn't know who Tomoshibi or Himura were but he was happy for them all the same. It was then time for his dreaded introduction. Quincy would stand up a little shyly and take a deep breath. This was actually happening a new school with new people. He was actually having a fresh start.
"H-Hello. My Name is Quincy Gayle. I'm a transfer student from America." Quincy said a bit nervously. "It's a pleasure to meet you all and" Quincy would sit back in his seat. He wouldn't mention his quirk as it could bring up any unwanted questions but Quincy was still prepared.

Post by Yui Lynne on Mar 8, 2020 19:40:01 GMT
The whole sport festival was not Yui's ideal gig as it were, though she still tried her best but doubted anything positive would be coming back from it. Her spirit was somewhat lifted having spent most of the night playing her guitar. It showed under her eyes that she had spent most of the previous night awake, but it beat feeling sorry for herself. Everyone had tried their best and that as far as Yui believed happened to be what counted most. Yui managed to make it to the classroom in time, her distinctive red eyes taking in the new student speaking with the teacher as she headed towards the back of the class to her own seat. The petite girl seated herself, carefully sliding a guitar case under her desk so it was out of the way. If her hero career tanked, it was good to have a fall back at the very least. Not that she planned on failing to be a hero, she just loved music and singing. In a strange paradox, Yui could be confident in front of a crowd, but in person rarely spoke up and tended to be on the rather quiet side.
Yui was pleased that Jun won the Sports Festival, however Himura's achievement in successfully defeating cancer happened to be amazing. She did not envy the new student's task of standing up and introducing himself. Such a feat tended to be distinctly problematic. honestly when facing a crowd it was better to be armed with a musical instrument instead of empty hands and having to speak. Quincy Gale. Yui noted his name, he seemed like a nice enough guy, it must be tough moving to a new school and not really knowing anyone. Much to her surprise Yui found herself speaking. "Welcome to UA High." Hopefully he would feel at home here soon. She glanced awkwardly at the class then found something immensely interesting on her empty desk to look at instead, her cheeks warming slightly.

Post by Ren Wolff on Mar 11, 2020 4:09:30 GMT
The teacher's cat accepted Ren's attention for a good twenty seconds before it apparently decided it'd had enough of the chill aura he exuded, and proceeded to hop down. That was nothing particularly new, he liked animals just as much as the next person, but most didn't tend to enjoy hanging around someone whose presence actively made the room colder. It was certainly a bit of a shame, but there wasn't anything else for it. With his desk once again vacant he took a seat and pulled a notebook from his bag, starting to doodle idly in the margins while his other classmates began to slowly trickle into the room. Anything to help keep his mind occupied and steer his thoughts away from the impending trip back home.
It wasn't long before the boy heard a familiar voice call out to him, and he looked up from the cartoonish caricature of a cat he'd busied himself with. "Good morning Fu." He greeted his classmate with a smile that was bit more genuine than the one he'd been wearing when he entered the room. "Feeling any better today?" He'd been in a different group for the second stage of festival, so he hadn't found out about what happened to her until after it was all said and done. He definitely felt bad about it, especially since he hadn't been able to keep his promise of seeing her through the whole event, but even still he was proud of her for what she had managed to accomplish. No matter what anyone else had to say on the subject, he was more convinced than ever that his friend could make it here.
Now if only he could have quite as much conviction himself... As more people shuffled in, Ren found himself briefly catching Jun's eye before quickly looking away. Not only was the kid a reminder of what had happened after the match, but Ren was positive that he knew something had been off about the way it ended, he could see it in his gaze. He told himself that he couldn't just explain it because of what was at stake, but for some reason that felt like a pretty hollow excuse in his ears.
Luckily before his mind could slip any further back down, Aoi stood and started speaking to the class. The message was a simple one, and apart from his own role in the end he had to agree; everyone in their class had done a fantastic job. He joined in the applause for both Jun and Fu, genuinely happy for them, and his smile had returned slightly by the time the new student rose to introduce himself. This Quincy seemed a bit on the nervous side, but Ren could hardly fault the kid for that, he was pretty shy himself, at least until he'd gotten a chance to meet everyone. He was about to offer a greeting of his own when an unexpected voice came from the back of the class. He looked back to see Yui staring down and trying to avoid eye contact with everyone. Yet another shy one that he'd never gotten a chance to get to know... maybe he could remedy that after he got back from his trip. If the guitar that she carried around was any indication, then there was a chance he could get an extra person to play with when he was practicing his bass.
Either way, when it became abundantly clear that the girl didn't want any more attention put on her, Ren turned back forward to face the new student and continued where he left off. "Yeah, Welcome to UA. I'm the Vice Rep, Ren Wolff. I'm sure Isamu-san already went over this, but feel free to ask if you run into any problems or need a hand with anything"

Sato's aside about winning not meaning everything was of little comfort to Hyousuke. He'd not expected to find much success in the tournament - indeed, the fact that he'd made it to final sixteen had been something of a shock to him, and he wagered that it had been to everyone else as well. It was just how badly he'd been beaten that had gotten to him. He'd shown what he could do, and as far as he was concerned, that meant "being slapped around until the other person got bored and tossed him out of the arena like he was a sack of refuse."
He tried to put all of that aside, though, and ignore it to focus more on what else Sato was talking about. He couldn't help but feel his expression drop at the mention of Himura - though it quickly lightened slightly when he realised that she'd recovered from it. Relieved, he glanced at the two new students, though didn't pay much attention to them. He'd learn their names - and their Quirks, if they came up - but they weren't really of much concern to him. Socialising in general just wasn't something he really felt like doing.

New people? Wow, sensei wasn't kidding when she told me there was a bit of a change coming to the class. Fu watched as the new students filled in and their sensei spoke. The class reps were quick to jump on and introduce themselves to the new students. It was always fun to see new students. For her, it always meant it was an opportunity to make new friends. Fu wasn't the most social person in the world but she did enjoy the company of her classmates. When she transferred to general studies for a period of time, she still looked for the company of her then former classmates. She did eventually make friends in the general studies course but it wasn't as natural as it was with 1-A.
Fu blushed a bit when her sensei mentioned her but she appreciated the praise. Sato-sensei had lightened up a little around her. The last meeting the two had, she mentioned that she hadn't seen someone fight through so much and keep going with the hero course. Fu gleamed that Sato's strictness came from a good place. That she cared for her students, even though it didn't show 100% of the time.

Jun listened to Aoi-sensei talk. He raised both arms out with a V sign with his index and middle fingers along with a bright smile at the mention of his victory. Though the last round very well could have been a different match up...if Ren had taken advantage of his literal slip-up. Well, his loss. The blond was soaking in the moment. Jun gave the blushing Himura a double thumbs up and an even brighter smile. Coma was one thing, cancer was another. And while he was glad that his twin brother was out of his coma, beating cancer was a far greater achievement. The new guy introduced himself. He was from America, but that was all he decided to share. Nevertheless, Jun gave the new student an enthusiastic wave.
He was just a bundle of energy today. And didn't seem like was going to calm down any time soon. Even if he did stay seated rather calmly. He was more interested in the internships.

Isamu gave Quincy a quizzical look one might interpret as a raised eyebrow, save for the fact that cats didn’t really have eyebrows. “It would not be a bother. It is literally my responsibility as class representative to assist my fellow students. Should you decide you need assistance later, please feel free to speak with either myself or Wolff-san.” He gestured towards the other student. “And welcome to 1-A.”
After that he took his own seat, front and center of the classroom… sitting behind anyone else pretty much guaranteed he wouldn’t be able to see the board. She slipped his laptop out and then placed his backpack on the chair for a bit of a booster seat, stylus ready to take notes on the laptop screen.
He listened to the teacher’s announcements, and made a mental note that he needed to properly congratulate Tomoshibi for his Sports Festival victory. In all the hustle and bustle surrounding the tournament and then the awards ceremony and wrapping up after the event he hadn’t had a chance to do that yet. And then Quincy introduced himself, and…. He was a transfer student from the states. Hrm. He made a second mental note that he might need help adjusting to a Japanese school system and culture.
… Not that he was a particularly… outgoing personality type. If Gayle needed more emotional support, rather than just instruction and guidance… Maybe Wolff would be better suited to that. And, to be fair, Wolff likely had more experience adjusting to a foreign culture, considering his origins.
No, shirking his duties was no way for a hero to act. He’d likely need to connect with people in distress, so being more empathetic and supportive would be warranted. He would have a talk with Wolff after class, but he wouldn’t go out of his way to make himself unavailable. It might be worth checking in on the foreign exchange student really quickly after class just to make sure he had his bearings.
That decided, he faced forward, but still watched how the other students were doing from the corner of his vision. Everyone was a little off their game this morning, which was to be expected… but was there was something going on between Wolff and Tomoshibi, or was that his imagination? They’d faced off in the final round, butl… whatever it was, they could work it out amongst themselves. The other Suzuki (of no relation) seemed a bit down from his loss the previous day. Might need to keep an eye on that. Followed quickly by several more as he took stock of the class’ mood.
Being a leader was certainly… challenging. Isamu idly wondered if this is what it would be like to run an agency someday, even as he joined in the clapping for his other classmates. Of course, he already had a good idea how his parents’ agency worked, but internships would provide a chance to get a much closer look at the actual workings. It would be… interesting, to say the least.
